On Thursday
morning August, Former BoengKak residents gathered in front of city hall, to
push city hall resolve their problems because now they have meet a lot of
problems after they leave to live at relocation site. Ms. Soy Kolab,
representative of community said city hall’s officers said they will find funds
from other organizations, moreover city hall have funds to support residents
but they suggested residents to write residents’ background and problems to
send to city hall.
Land
at BoeungKak was granted to Sukaku, a company owned CPP senator Lao Meng Kim,
in 2007 for a US$ 79 million development. Thousands of families have since been
evicted for the site. There were 3500 families who moved to live at relocation
site and they got compensation as 8500$ and other got a house with land at BoreySotheaphep
of community.
